Excellent pro broadcast mic for easy studio set up
Richie G., 23.10.2017
We bought this mic for one of our contributers to be able to easily record in their home set-up to ensure broadcast quality recordings - perfect, and easy set up for use at remote locations. great sound quality for recording too.

some issues the quality of the usb to pc cable could be weightier to give better quality.

it's not an xlr connection, so wont work for multiple mic's into a device - if you need more than one mic, then use xlr microphones into a usb mixer desk.

on the whole, easy to set up.

Very good microphone for voice recording
vis7mac, 07.04.2013
I'm really surprised by the quality of this microphone.

The processing is top, it is completely made of metal and feels very solid.
Unfortunately this is at the same time also a disadvantage: It is really very difficult.
I had the Rode Tripod as a tripod dazubestellt - but as soon as one accidentally hits the microphone, it kicks immediately, as it has a strong overweight.
This was also the (only!) Reason why I have sent back everything. On the desk it bothers and is so big that you can not just clean it up.

I have not tried this myself, but can only recommend the Rode PSA1 or similar studio arms.
Unfortunately, I simply have no room at my desk. So you should look at the purchase.

It is important, however, to ensure proper storage. The Rode PSM1, for example, can be used to secure the Rode Podcaster so that it can not fall out, even if it is aligned almost horizontally.

The sound quality is simply stunning, it simply has no Grundrauschen, only my (sometimes very loud) computer fan sometimes appeared in the recording. This is a question of setup.

The decor is very simple and uncomplicated. Simply connect, it already appears as an audio device and you can record with it.
The monitoring output is very awesome, you can actually hear without any delay and can also send other sounds like the recordings of the other podcast participants over the computer.
Unfortunately it was with me under OS X 10.8 so that the output level was not controllable, the volume control simply does not work. So you have to control the level on the softwareside.

I can recommend the Rode Podcaster to anyone who has enough space on the desk for it or even a studio or a room for recording.
