A magnificent, superb, Glorious Workbench

The Glorious Workbench is a low-cost producer's desk specifically designed to meet the demands of home and project studios. The easy-to-assemble MDF construction offers, in addition to an approximately 130cm wide worktop, a raised platform for displays and speakers as well as two integrated 19" racks with four rack units each for the installation of audio interfaces, preamps, and other hardware devices. In addition, the studio table has a pull-out shelf measuring 123×27.5cm, so there's space for a compact master keyboard and a USB controller too.

Practical construction

The raised platform, with integrated speaker shelves, is 156cm wide and offers enough space for two displays. Smaller 2-way systems can be placed on the 26×26cm speaker shelves: Furthermore, they're rotatable, making it much easier for producers to align their monitor speakers and find their sweet spot. The 19" racks below are easily accessible from the listening position, making the built-in hardware comfortable to use. There is also a compartment between the racks for CDs or DVDs, for example. Otherwise, in addition to the computer accessories, other controllers, a table microphone, or a small mixer can be kept on the worktop.

Gloriously tidy

Compared to improvised solutions consisting of a standard desk with external speaker stands, a master keyboard off to one side, and an external 19" rack, the ergonomically designed Glorious Workbench offers a compact, clearly structured and, above all, practical working environment for working efficiently from the listening position. It provides a suitable place for all important equipment for day-to-day production and, for all its features, it's comparatively inexpensive. This makes the Glorious Workbench ideal for all musicians and producers who need a practical and budget-friendly workstation.

Very good value for the money, but..!
Tommy T 23.10.2020
I do my research well enough before buying anything, so there won't be too many surprises.
I bought this one because I needed a new desk for my computer, and I dabble in audio on a hobby basis. The description was accurate, the build was easy (esp. if you know your way around that world famous flat packed furniture), and the packaging was as expected - no damaged parts.
But when I started using it i found the edges on the front aren't rolled off or rounded at all. I often sit in front of my computer in a t-shirt, and that makes the hard edge quite noticeable after a little while. I also tilt back in my chair quite a lot, which means the hard edge on the piano drawer is almost as noticeable.
Would I have bought something else if I knew this? Nope. The one star deduction is for those hard edges only. Overall the desk does its job and is well worth the money, and now I have a few free rack spaces for future units!

b
Great for home studio use
bkrnetic 29.11.2019
The desk is really practical and let's you organize your equipment easily. As for the shipping, it arrived pretty fast with no additional costs as someone wrote down below.

The drawer is not the most solid drawer you will come across, but it is smooth and serves the purpose for the studio desk of this price just right. It looks really nice and fits any room cosmetically, though it arrived with 1-2 slight discolorations but I don't mind, it's hardly visible.

Basically the only thing I wish it was different is the depth (or height? - you will get it from the context) of the lower shelf and the drawer. My Arturia Keylab 61 MKII fits nicely onto the drawer in terms of width, but I cannot access drum pads unless I put that side of key board more closer to me. That being said, one part of keyboard doesn't rest on the drawer. However, if you don't use drum pads often, this probably won't be an issue.

As for the lower shelf, it can fit 13" laptops but not 15" or bigger in a sense that you can place it on the shelf but you won't be able to push your screen more than 90° while 100°-105° is the most natural angle for working at the desk, if you ask me.

Adding only ~10cm to the depth/height of the drawer and lower shelf would fix these issues.

Other than these 2 things mentioned, the desk really serves the purpose and I would definitely recommend it!

R
Nice, but flawed experience
Raaggnrs 26.08.2019
This desk is quite nice overall and easy to put together. The main issues I have with it are that there are a few cosmetic imperfections including knocks, and slight discolorations, and the fact that the drawer isn't quite as solid as I had hoped/expected.

The main issue I have, however, is that in my case Thomann's advertized shipping price does not and will never apply to this product. Apparently it is too large to be sent via post and must be sent via DHL, which increases the shipping cost from 30 euros to well over 200 euros. Whilst understandable, this really should be stated on the product page, and not after an order has been placed.

Does what it is supposed to do
StergiosCozy 14.01.2019
I have the desk for about a week now and used it quite a lot for the time that I have it. First of all it was not too easy, not to hard to build it. Took me quite a lot of time (more than 2 hours) since the one piece of paper manual has only 6 small pictures as instructions but then again I did it alone and I don't have much experience about setting up desks so someone who has done it before or has some help might do it easier and faster. The desk looks amazing and has a lot of space for gear. The drawer doesn't seem too bad but I haven't used anything heavy since my keystation pro 88 is extremely big and doesn't fit there but it seems that it can easily hold any 61 keys synth without any problem. The rotating shelves for the speakers are great. One thing that troubled me quite a lot was how to mount my gear on the racks. Once you build the desk and place the upper shelf there is no way to screw anything inside the racks because the screws simply dont fit in the racks. You have to place the screws in the racks before the upper shelf is in place in order to mount your gear. That's not a problem if you have everything but if you are like me and always improving your gear that means that every time you buy something new you have to get your monitor and speakers down, unscrew the upper shelf to take it out, mount your gear and then put them all up again. That is the only con i could find in the desk since in everything else (and in looks) it is amazing.
